Oh dear, yet another long break in my posting. But it’s not for lack of dog sport adventures! Kerrie’s National, a specialty focused on English Springer Spaniels, wrapped up earlier this month. We spent over a week in Albany, Oregon participating and helping.

While Kerrie showed me she still needs work before she’s ready to pass Open obedience, she did a lovely job demoing her new freestyle routine to Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.” Here’s a link to the performance on the show secretary’s FB page:
Then when I got home, I was happy to see in the mail pile Kerrie’s freestyle certificate for her InSync Championship! “InSync” is this organization’s version of heelwork-to-music.

Her current “Last Dance” routine is in the Musical Freestyle division, where we’re starting once again at the lower levels and working our way up. I already have a Grand Championship InSync routine percolating in my head, possibly to Christina Perri’s “Thousand Years,” and some dance friends who have volunteered to help me with the human side of the choreography. So lots of exciting new freestyle adventures are coming up next year!
And I know it’s just a matter more work, patience and training in new locations to have Kerrie successful in the Open ring.
There’s lots more to report and post, including the introduction of a new pack member, so stay tuned!
